Meditations Upon a Psalm. by A. Nonie Mouse

Psalm One

Verse One

Blessed is the man who walks not in the council of the ungodly nor stands in the path of sinners, not sits in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord and in this law he meditates day and night.

He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season.

Whose leaf also shall not wither and whatever he does shall prosper.

Oh the joys of righteous living! And yet our minds are still influenced by this earthly system and how we suffer for it.

Influences vague, persuasive, interfering; always “just there”: like air only not as beneficial.

The only real weapon we have against this interference is to meditate on His Law day and night.

We need to allow this to be the system that the Lord created for us.

What is meditation?

Not sitting cross legged contemplating our navels. It is constantly talking, thinking, discussing with God and ourselves what His Law is and how to apply it to our everyday doings.

Verse Four

The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgement, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

When chaff is blown in the wind it disappears completely. No TRACE!

Those who are not part of God’s glory are like chaff. Not a pleasant prospect.

The enemy is adept at lies and too many believe him for too many reasons.

God stands by His word. God stands on His Word.

I AM THE TRUTH. I CHANGE NOT!
